The Poodle and the Pea

written by Charlotte Guillain
illustrated by Dawn Beacon
Expected publication: February 1st 2013 by Capstone Raintree

This book is exactly what you would expect from the title - a canine version of the classic fairytale The Princess and the Pea. Cute illustrations and a clever re-telling make this fractured fairytale one young children are sure to enjoy!

The Silly Looking Thing

by Eva M. Sakmar-Sullivan
Published August 1st 2012 by Schiffer Publishing

Itsy-Bitsy Frog went to the pond in search of a friend. He was disappointed to not find any other young frogs. Thought a "strange-looking creature was swimming about". When the creatures asked him to play - the frog said, "No way! I'm a frog and you're a silly looking thing!" This happened for several days before he told his parents. Their advice to him was, "Just because someone looks different from you doesn't mean you can't enjoy playing together." So Itsy-Bitsy Frog went back to the pond to apologize and play with the silly looking thing. However, something unexpected was there instead. Read the book to find out what!
