At first glance, People looked like an interesting and fun way to introduce different types of people to a small child. However, the inclusion of some questionable professions or characters makes me feel it is not for today's young American child. The illustrations are simple and eye-catching. While some of the two-page spreads share a creative connection, though not always obvious, others have no rhyme or reason to their proximity. There is definitely a foreign feel to this book. While that is not a bad thing, I just don't think it a necessary addition to any library. On that note, if you would like to increase your own or your child's vocabulary then go ahead pick up this book and see what Blexbolex has done to describe Amputee, Corpse, Tyrant, Executioner, Fakir, and Nudist.
